BIOGRAPHYJohn M. Kohan, a native of western New York and a graduate of Morrisville Ag and Tech College(A.A.S.) and U of GA(B.S.A.) studying food technology and food science.John is President of Food Tech, Plantation FL., a small food laboratory that provides technical development and consultation to the food industry. Our 20th year.John’s career includes extensive technical experience, having worked for Penick & Ford Ltd, Stange Co., Clinton Corn Processing Co., Hubinger Co. and Chris Hansen Labs. A through understanding of Carbohydrates, Spices, Cultures, Natural Colors, Enzymes and their interaction that each perform in a food system. These technical capabilities have formed the foundation and strength to fully discuss and implement strategies for New Food Product Developments. Additional capabilities include Nutritional Labeling (NLEA), Food Safety Systems (HACCP plans), Ingredient Sourcing, Cost Improvements, FDA process approvals.John’s primary residence is Florida, but also maintains a summer home in the Adirondacks, both of which provide a base for his food consulting and research projects.John is Past Chairman of South Florida Institute of Food Technologist(SFIFT)John is married to Kathy for 48 years and they have 2 children
