My responsibilities included seismic interpretation, volumetric mapping, monitoring new well drilling for geologic model updates and logging programs. Interacting with external business partners, and working in a cross functional team were challenges new to me in this position. During this assignment my team drilled two successful deepwater sub-salt wells, one of which required geologic sidetracks and I helped choose bottom hole targets which made found the desired reservoir.

Midland, Texas

Work was done in a mature waterflood reservoir with nearly ninety years of production. My team was a cross-functional Earth Science, Engineering, Drilling, and Operations group that put together production and injection well packages that maximize flood response and recovery factor in the Permian Basin of West Texas.

Lafayette, Louisiana Area

As an Exploration Geophysicist in the Gulf of Mexico I did more extensive modelling of the shelf to try and find new deep gas opportunities. We incorporated synthetic seismographs, time-depth tables, velocity cubes, and other geophysical data in a large shelf-wide GOCAD model with 3D seismic interpretation and fault modelling.

I worked closely with a Geologist on several infill well projects targeting attic or bypassed oil and gas reserves on the Gulf of Mexico Shelf. As a geophysicist, I modelled AVO response and put together synthetic seismograms and time-depth tables to tie my models to the seismic data available.

Fort Collins, Colorado

I was tasked with setting up a functioning geophysical laboratory which included purchasing and testing ground penetrating radar, resistivity, and seismic equipment.

Taos, New Mexico

Assisted professors with field study and grading of field reports and acted as a liaison between faculty and students. Scouted camp locations and set up base camp before students arrived.

I assisted in the field with water and fish specimen counts and sampling using electric stimulation methods. In the office I maintained the specimen room and did database entry of fish counts by species from field surveys.
