Aquatic Management -o As a Master Instructor Trainer for the Canadian Red Cross I mentored new Instructor Trainers, ran provincial recertification workshops, and helped implement new National Water Safety programs. o I was a public relations spokesperson for the Canadian Red Cross and the Preventable program .o I held several positions with the Lifesaving Society including, Examinations Chair, Leadership Chair, and Vice President. As Vice President of the Lifesaving Society I oversaw the many program committees and their volunteer chairs.o Re-structured the Aquatic Centre, beaches and back yard pool programs to unite the teams and rotate shifts. This was a large motivator for staff and provided cross training and flexibility in scheduling. o Grew the Aquatic Centre programs consistently over 15 years through development of high performance sports, competitive lifeguard programs, career training programs, personal training and private lessons programs. o Authored a council report on sustainable practices, which became the framework for the West Vancouver Aquatic Centre pricing structure. o Created community engagement focus groups for the successful $8.5 Million redevelopment of the Aquatic Centre. o Helped choose the Architect and aided in the redesign of an aging facility to a highly functional multipurpose recreation facility. o Redesigned the staffing, programs, and equipment needs for a new facility ensuring a higher level of standard for the delivery of recreation and wellness programs. o Worked cooperatively with the West Vancouver Municipal Employees Association to ensure coherence to the collective agreement and maintained a strong working relationship.
