Planner, Platemaker and Crosfield 895 Operator (trained at Crosfield's Watford headquarters on intensive 6 week course).Later trained on Scitex PS2 rips and earliest Apple Macs for page make-up. Company was purchased by Wace and I was transferred to Lithospeed as a Mac Operator where I was responsible for producing Autocar Weekly magazine and organised final film delivery to press. Lithospeed later went on to become Wace Publication Imaging.

3.5 year apprenticeship at one of the leading lithographic large format poster repro companies in London at the time. I produced planned final film for complex ads, or I was able to produce a set of plates from planned foils. I also gained experience with galley cameras, Dianippon flat bed wet proofing system, Cromalin proofing and traditional retouching. Respect to Bill Chandler, Keith Goodwin, Geoff Coade, Phil Jenkins and Roy Stone in particular.
