Supporting Vangent in their delivery of the Learner Evaluation and Management Service of the Home Access Programme (LEAMS), my role is to provide quality assurance management on all aspects of the delivery of this contract; whilst steering forward process efficiencies to streamline the provision of the service.

Providing bid and delivery support to various BSF projects (particularly in the area of SEN and ICT)

Here I acted as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on assistive technology and SEN to the Home Access Programme (a government scheme to provide computer and Internet access to 270,000 low income families). In this role I was part of a team procuring specialist suppliers on contracts worth £27 million. I also ran a triage service for assistive technology applicants to determine how their needs could be best met. Leading a small team we spoke to over 3,500 parents.

Responsible for the management and development of AbilityNet's work in the education sector. Promoting and delivering assistive technology advice and assessment services to learners, schools, local authorities etc. Managing AbilityNet's involvement in major education projects and initiatives including the Home Access programme and Building Schools for the Future.

Supporting disabled people in securing access to technology and informing on the role that this technology can play in facilitating communication and day to day activities. Activities included telephone advice; assessments of individuals' needs at home, work or school; configuration and supply of specially adapted computers; and on-going support of those users.

Working on SEARCH-ED, a project funded by SCEFC (the Scottish Higher Education Funding Council) to investigate the role that information technology can play in the dissemination of learning materials to disabled students.

Tecknowledge.able was a one year project funded by HEFCE (Higher Education Funding Council for England and Wales). Here I worked as the key member of a team which put together training resources for staff in Further and Higher Education. The training pack consisted of a book and a video which addressed the role which IT can play in the education of disabled students.

A sabbatical post where I was responsible for all student union activities and affairs at the High Wycombe campus.
