John Logar work experience

Systems Integration Engineer
I work on a variety of programs at L2. During these I accomplish detailed electrical systems design of commercial aircraft installations and alterations. Many of these projects involved satellite communications equipment being installed on aircraft that weren't previously equipped with it.Throughout the projects that I worked on, I prepared and checked documentation to satisfy both customer, company, and regulatory requirements. After that, I worked to resolve systems manufacturing and installation problems. This involved attending and assisting with aircraft surveys and the installation of systems on prototype and production aircraft to verify that all FAA/EASA regulations are complied with for a STC.
Chapter Engagement Coordinator
Expansion Consultant
As an Expansion Consultant for Pi Kappa Phi, I traveled to different college campuses across the country for 4-week periods of time and served to recruit men to serve as founding fathers and form new chapters of the Fraternity. This was a task that I accomplished with just me and one other consultant. We had to operate fairly autonomously and develop our own solutions to problems that arose during our fairly brief and extremely busy visits to each campus. On campus, we led our own presentations to students, met with campus faculty and staff, networked in the area for both potential members and advisors, and set up individualized meetings where we not only told students about the opportunity to join but learned how to personalize it to help them achieve their own life goals. This has been a very challenging but beneficial position for me to work on my networking, interpersonal communication, public speaking skills, and comfortability in new environments.
Tooling/Sales Co-Op
During my time at Cincinnati Thermal Spray, I've worked to expand and organize our engineering libraries by working with others to update, redesign, or create new tooling. By doing this I was able to work on over 80 different tooling projects and held the responsibility of tracking their progress as the tooling I made was machined and implemented. I also had the privileged to work as a sales engineer during my co-op at CTS. With this position I created a system for starting and tracking new quotes for customers, and orders that we received to ensure that all quotes and orders were processed correctly and kept up to date.
Engineering Co-Op
While at NMG Aerospace I got a good look at the aerospace manufacturing industry and all of the thought / time that goes into it. I had to wear many hats in my position, at one point or another working with basically everybody in the building. I helped the director of engineering to publish a SAE report by doing all of the necessary research and working with him to write it. I also implemented 5S and LEAN manufacturing methods in multiple work cells on the floor through use of visual cues and reorganization of the flow of inventory.
Research And Development Co-Op
At Cincinnati Test Systems I got a range of experience in a very unique industry. I assisted in running a mass-production project on multiple multi-million dollar contracts. While doing so, I also ran an instrument repair stand where I was able to decrease the fallout rate of products from 18% to 4% in just 2 weeks. I also prepared the company to release new versions of their products by developing updated models and drawings of the products and their subsystems.
Engineering Intern
During my time working at General Plug & Manufacturing, I got great hands on experience working with cold forming machines, autodesk inventor, and working together with coworkers from all walks of life. I improved our library of drawings by creating new drawings for many pieces of tooling, Took care of our outgoing product by maintaining quality control on our shipments, and I Got new machines working on the floor by rewiring old machines that didn't work.
Power Systems And Analysis Intern
During my time at NASA, I got to work in a professional Aerospace environment and see how it operates. I worked to create a tool that was used to create the 3D models that are used for simulations run on the ISS to predict power generation. It was an amazing experience that I couldn't have had anywhere else
