I have been a first-chair trial lawyer for 44 years, having conducted my first trial in a real estate case in 1978. In the past 35 years I have handled primarily large, complex patent and trademark cases, and prior to that, commercial and corporate cases. I have appeared and argued before the Federal Circuit Court of Appeals six times, the Minnesota Supreme Court and Minnesota Court of Appeals multiple times, the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Handled over 125 matters of various types in more than 26 different Federal District Courts, in more than 17 different states, and similar numbers in several Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Ohio state courts.
