My role at St. Luke's was in sterile processing and surgical scrub assisting. I was being trained to be a scrub technician but in late 2000 Arizona passed a regulation which caused me to seek higher education. This role while short taught me about the sterile process and patient safety in the operating room. I was also cross trained in central sterile processing which lead to a greater understanding of how to keep infections lower.
