Worked as part of a team to develop and optimize a diagnostic quantitative real-time PCR for detection of specific pathogenic bacteria from clinical samples of diseased and healthy animals. Conducted cell-growth assays including growth curves and antibiotic susceptibility testing.

Screened an expression library of Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis proteins for immunoreactive antigens using cow sera for the development of an enzyme-linked immunosorbant assay (ELISA).
