The nature of high volume procurement has exposed and refined a discipline of lean inventory management to maximize returns in a low margin business.My collegiate career focused on such a method of efficiency and productivity, and alongside it was crafted a philosophy. One of prudent business and effective leadership. As human institutions are fragile, the human spirit, or the personnel that create and maintain them, serve as a vital and robust constitution to the privileges we enjoy such as stocked shelves, to public safety, and to all facets that drive our society. Much like the supply chain, itself.During my tenure, I have had the privilege to formulate and execute inventory security and management whilst at the thick of my academic career. It was at Old Navy that I truly learned that EQ trumps IQ in measures of sustained, habitual success. At NuStar Energy, as a dual-intern between the Business Development and In-House Legal department, I learned the importance of prudence through budgeting and contracting, whether it be through forecasting returns and observing balance sheets, or standardizing contractual language across the firm to build contractual precedent and fortitude.Today, I am a Supply Chain Analyst specializing in Procurement and Inventory Management at McLane Foodservice. In this role, I am located in the middle of the entire supply chain of the chain restaurant industry. My responsibilities cover such a breadth as I preside over vendor relationships on behalf of our customers, achieve cost effectiveness in maintaining lean inventory across hundreds of thousands of throughput SKU's every week, and maximize productivity among other KPI's with 2 distribution centers which I am a dedicated buyer for to ensure a 99.9% service rate. This exposure and wide net of experience has thus far been nothing short of critical, as well as worthwhile to my career development and I am excited to continue to develop within the company and its areas of supply chain function.
