Leads and produces substantive output on multiple grant-sponsored projects, services to association members, and contractual responsibilities. Recent project culminated in the delivery of a law enforcement leadership guide on protecting civil rights. Current work focuses on the use of geographic information systems (GIS) to display, assess, and share information about law enforcement agency programs and services to youth in support of a grant by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP). Serves as in-house specialist on the use of geographical information system in law enforcement. Serves as IACP staff liaison to the Diversity Coordinating Panel and the Civil Rights Committee. Participates in grant work on promising practices for diversity recruitment in law enforcement. Actively involved with National Institute of Justice’s Mapping and Analysis for Public Safety (MAPS) program.

Advise\consult on the development of a secure, intranet-based, cross-jurisdictional crime mapping system (CMS) for New York State, including project management, staff oversight, & coordination with partner agencies at local and state levels. Provided consultation & support for mapping, geographic analysis, graphic analysis techniques, & quantitative analysis across Vera projects. Provided training of law enforcement managers & police officers in NY State on use of CMS, basic GIS concepts, COTS software use, & spatial analysis techniques. Experienced in practical issues of data quality, particularly as they pertain to mapping & geography. Responsible design and implementation of various techniques & strategies to improve data quality, including optimizing geocoding for large data sets across broad geographic areas. Participate in conferences, trainings, & research in police accountability, police-community relations, citizen satisfaction surveys, and international crime mapping.
