In my role as an employment Solicitor and Principal Lawyer at Slater & Gordon, I specialise in advising individuals who are employees, partners in partnerships and members of limited liability partnerships (LLP's). My work is both non-contentious (e.g. advising on contracts, restrictive covenants, share options, incentive plans, bonus schemes, profit share arrangements, partnership agreements, LLP agreements, consultancy agreements, non-executive appointments) and contentious (e.g Compromise Agreements/Settlement Agreements, conciliation, mediation, arbitration, ADR, Employment Tribunal litigation and High Court litigation, particularly in relation to team moves, injunctions and restrictive covenants).Having worked previously as In-house General Counsel for a large global financial services institution for 8 years, I gained experience of working and advising in many different legal jurisdictions/countries, in several legal disciplines, including employment law and regulatory law.At Slater & Gordon, my clients come from a wide variety of backgrounds, but mainly City financial services, the legal, accountancy and medical professions and those working in larger public and private companies in the UK.My background and work in the financial services regulatory field, advising clients on their FCA obligations and assisting them with related issues and investigations, links well with advising clients leaving and joining FCA/PRA regulated firms in the City, when their regulatory and employment issues are intertwined. This has led to extensive involvement in advising clients through the regulatory process and limiting damage arising.Acting for joining and departing senior executives forms a large part of what I do on a daily basis, advising on the law, tactics and negotiation strategy required to achieve their aims without resort to litigation.
