A professional senior Training manager currently serving in a training and administrative role. Overseeing the training of 57 trainees and instructors in 2 training facilities. In my position, I am responsible for the welfare and well-being of all soldiers, the delivery of training, and discipline. I coach, mentor, listen, and intervene when conflict arises by offering empathetic support and helping to resolve issues. The challenge lies in the fact that all trainees must meet the required standards within the 14 weeks allotted for the training program. Summative assessments are conducted in weeks 5 and 10 and formative assessments in weeks 12. Student learning goals are evaluated through summative assessments and formative assessments. Currently, the training establishment is undergoing some changes, with policies being adjusted to comply with DSAT and ARITC policies.

I also worked closely with local emergency services to ensure that they had all the information they needed to respond to any emergencies that might occur, and assisted in the coordination of relief efforts where needed.I was responsible for managing both mental health and compassion issues for both subordinates in and outside the workplace. I worked with senior leadership to identify the needs of the people involved, and helped to develop solutions that best supported their needs. I was tasked to work with the 2 Scots battle group, In order to assist with the role of the Police Mentor. The role of the Police Mentor was to help train and mentor the Afghanistan Police Force in order to improve their effectiveness and capacity. The Police Mentor works alongside Afghan police officers, providing advice, Weapons and tactics training along with guidance and general leadership. The role of the Police Mentor is often a challenging and rewarding experience. On a day-to-day basis the Police Mentor will work with their Afghan counterparts, providing advice and guidance where necessary.I also taught the basic police leader courses, which included teaching lessons and guiding the leaders in their duties. I was also the 2ic of a team of 10 and tasked with teaching lessons to a number of different police units that came to the training centre. Lessons varying from basic first aid, weapons, to tactics, patrol strategies and much more.

The Chief of Staff, the most senior officer in the building, is responsible for ensuring everything runs smoothly and that the Army’s senior leaders are provided with the best possible support. I was employed to look after the Chief of Staff, ensuring he had the support he needed. This was a very important time for the Army, with thousands of soldiers preparing to deploy to Afghanistan in the coming months.Working with the Chief of Staff, I provided him with support when he needed it. I was able to observe everything from the smallest details of the catering, through to the guests’ behaviour and the general mood at the party. These events often had a military theme and guests would be expected to dress in appropriate uniform. I was also responsible for organizing the guest list, so that everyone was able to enjoy a relaxing and enjoyable evening without any worries or stress.
