My business experience has included having founded 8 small business enterpises and having involvement as a partner or shareholder in 10 others, the vast majority of which being in regional areas.The core business over the years, was a real estate agency. John Matthew & Sons commenced trading in March 1983, grew to have a staff of 30 and over 400 properties under management. In 1997, partners bought into the business. The partnership then purchased the business of another local firm and quickly grew to over 700 properties under management.During the period of ownership of John Matthew & Sons, I became involved in Rotary Club, the local Chamber of Commerce (including two years as President), Chairman of Anglican Homes in addition to initiating a number of other business interests and property developments. I sold my share in the business in 2000 and moved to the Barossa Valley in South Australia. There, after a period of part ownership of a winery, I acted as project manager for a 145-lot residential subdivision and commenced a retail business. At the same time, I became involved in business coaching, first as a client and later, following an approach and a period of training, as a licensed business coach.In 2005, I returned to Western Australia and decided that I would focus my entire business endeavours in this arena, having a vision of an enterprise that could extend the benefits of coaching to business owners throughout the vast regional areas of Western Australia.The service delivery of Switch is via internet and thus there are no geographical barriers. Existing clients or those who have completed limited programs, are or have been situated as far away as Melbourne, Sydney, Newcastle, Kununurra and Carnarvon.
