John is an independent legal consultant, qualified as solicitor in England & Wales and Hong Kong SAR, with substantial experience in the oil & gas industry, in addition to his experience across a broad range of commercial areas.His career in this industry started with Kerr McGee, and continued in private practice with Holman Fenwick & Willan, CMS Cameron McKenna (including a secondment to BP) and Minter Ellison before he took up acting as a legal consultant. He has advised on upstream & midstream projects whilst resident in Aberdeen, London, Hong Kong and mainland China, and has also advised on projects in Africa, most recently with Tullow Oil.John’s experience covers joint/unit operating agreements, production sharing agreements, drilling rig hire/marketing contracts, FPSO hire contracts, construction & tie in agreements, transportation agreements, metering & allocation agreements, due diligence reports, share sale & purchase agreements and other legal aspects of the upstream oil & gas business, within the UK and internationally.
