Review and aid in the administering of bridge design projects for Local level projects within the state of North Carolina. This work includes minimizing impacts to property owners and ensuring that a quality product is delivered to the traveling public.

Review Single Family Wastewater Surface Irrigation permit applications for technical correctness and viability. Permits were issued based on meeting regulatory requirements such as setbacks, proper sizing of nitrification field, proper treatment plan and sizing, and soil permeability requirements. Other duties were permitting geothermal injection well systems and some groundwater remediation injection well systems.

As a Project Engineering Geologist I directed the activities of an investigation team that consisted of two technicians and a field geologist for the purpose of developing a comprehensive understanding of subgrade conditions underlying road and bridge projects. Through the development of the investigation, I provided roadway and structure engineers with recommendations regarding problematic areas or the most appropriate design considerations for foundations.
