Projects included validation and verification of new component designs, product quality improvements and reduction of manufacturing cost. Led cross-functional project teams in product improvement activities. Performed cost analyses of proposed product improvements, manufacturing processes and proposed optimized manufacturing strategies.

Development of Real-Time qPCR platform and sample disposable for analysis of 33,000 genetic sequences in a single test.

Led a diverse group of mechanical, electrical, chemical and software engineers in the conceptualization, development, and design of automated manufacturing systems for the hard disk industry. Worked closely with marketing to create specifications for new equipment and to identify customer technology needs.

Management of a multidisciplinary team of mechanical, chemical, process and software engineers responsible for developing Agilent's microarray (Gene Chip) manufacturing capability. Led effort in defining the automation strategy for the product. Created specifications for custom manufacturing equipment to produce both Deposition and In-Situ microarray products. Responsible for conceptualization, design, specification and procurement of fab process machinery.

Cofounder of engineering services company, specializing in automation equipment design and product design for manufacturing. Responsible for contract bidding and negotiation, management of the engineering team and overview of all engineering projects.

Cofounder of Solar Energy Startup. Developed an innovative photovoltaic product for large-scale utility application. Acquired funding from the DoE and the California Energy Commission.
