Undertaking evaluation and research projects for a broad range of public sector clients including Welsh Government, DCMS, Innovate UK, Visit Britain and Arts Council England. Specialisms included the creative and cultural industries, digital tech and innovation and the economics and policy of placemaking.

I led development of the new 5-year strategy for UK film and screen 'BFI 2022' and managed of the Regional Cluster Fund, working with UK wide partners to foster growth in employment and creativity across the country. I also developed a new evaluation model for the BFI, which better captures the economic and public goods contributions of the organisation.

A challenging, high-pressure role working across the Coalition divide on a controversial and complicated political issue. I was lead advisor to two Secretaries of State and four HE Ministers on the impacts of broader policy on UK business and education. This included briefing for media appearances, working with stakeholders across Whitehall and representing the voice of business in Government negotiations.

A wide ranging role focussed on preparing and briefing the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister for meetings with other Heads of State, including at European Councils reporting to the PM's EU Advisor Ivan Rogers. I covered EU financial reform, including the building blocks of an EU Banking Union and EU and G8 tax issues, and the 2013 EU Multi-Annual Budget negotiation.

Responsible for the IPO’s overall approach to international affairs. Included representing the UK at the World Intellectual Property Organisation in Geneva, co-ordinating and prioritising the Office’s international priorities in each public fora and developing their relationship with important international organisations such as the OECD and G8 from a standing start.
