Support numerous DFCS missions in both operational support and in the development of specialized hardware/software needed to support range missions.• Develop and implement real time and near real time software in C, C++, and FORTRAN that processes data to control both aerial and ground targets.• Made significant upgrades to both hardware and software components of DFCS; which include upgrading the system to a newer IBM AIX platform, porting of software components to Linux, and replacement of outdated or unsupported equipment with Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) equipment.• Key member of team that added multiple RF datalink support in DFCS using standard UNIX system calls for interprocess communication and threads, and created a shared software environment where multiple drones on different datalinks in DFCS can be synchronized.• Developed real time software used to control and configure UHF datalink ground stations, and used COTS IP radio equipment to establish connectivity to remote ground station sites.• Utilize the MATLAB technical computing language to develop mathematical algorithms, perform statistical/trend analysis, evaluate digital filter performance, identify noise reduction methodologies, and evaluate/simulate system performance. Supported the Extended Air Defense Test Bed (EADTB) simulation as it was being used for air defense system studies and analysis.• Performed an in-depth study of a software representation of the Patriot Air Defense systems radar, missiles, and engagement logic to ensure that the model provided an acceptable level of fidelity.• Developed UNIX script files with AWK and PV-WAVE to reduce time required to analyze simulation results by generating software to extract data from simulations and present it in the desired format.• Key member of a team that generated software to interface EADTB simulations with actual tactical equipment resulting in a new implementation of the EADTB simulation for military training exercises.• Participated in the planning, design, and implementation of several Fort Bliss war-fighting experiments.
