John “Jay Mello” Melvin is a Multi-Media Professional from the Washington, DC area. From a young age he realized he had a talent for music and technology. Eager to learn and find a way into the industry , at 16 years old he co-produced a television show that was aired on live broadcast before finding his way into The Source Magazine. While there, he became a spokesperson for The Source Youth Foundation and used the power of hip hop music to deliver positive messages to the community. While attending The Omega Recording School of Arts and Applied Sciences in Rockville, Maryland, he became the GRAMMY-U Ambassador and led an Internship program at The Howard Theatre. Recently In 2016, he was appointed as one of the participants in the National Association of Broadcaster’s Technology Apprenticeship Program in which only 10 people are chosen across the country. That experience led him to being the first Technical Apprentice employed by The Disney-ABC Television group in Burbank, CA.
