Energizing the Future: Renewable Energy Pioneer and President of Solar Joint VenturesIn the dynamic landscape of 2009, I embarked on a journey with Great Lakes Energy in Windsor, Ontario, that not only harnessed the power of the sun but also shaped the trajectory of renewable energy within the region. As a founder and integral part of Ontario's Feed-In Tariff program, I led the creation of over 250 solar systems, marking our territory in solar trackers and commercial rooftops. My team and I were explorers on the frontiers of a renewable revolution, with innovation as our compass.One of our earliest milestones was constructing a vertical axis wind turbine, dubbed 'The Hawk' for its distinctive blade design inspired by the powerful wings of a hawk. This feat was achieved in collaboration with the bright minds at the University of Windsor's engineering department. Yet, it was solar energy that ultimately captivated our focus, proving not only to be a sustainable choice but a commercially viable one. The march towards progress was relentless, transitioning from designing solar layouts on simple Excel spreadsheets with a modest 165-watt panel to harnessing the capabilities of 650-watt panels today, utilizing state-of-the-art software for optimal layout analysis.My philosophy is grounded in performance and efficiency—qualities mirrored by my handpicked team of seasoned engineers and installers. Together, we are a symphony of precision and speed, constructing systems that not only meet but exceed expectations.Our horizon has now expanded beyond borders to the Republic of Panama, where I've carved a niche in off-grid, battery energy storage systems for residential homes. Here, the economics of line installation capitulate to the elegance of a self-sustaining, solar-powered home, complemented by a propane generator set.
