As a member of the Senior Management Team in The Marlay Nursing Home, it is my role and responsibility to ensure the provision of a high standard of care to the resident and their relatives in all aspects of their life from a non clinical perspective. This can only be achieved by, ensuring that residents’ needs and comfort are given priority in the context of safety requirements and HIQA regulations.I manage a daily team of 43 staff ensuring high standards throughout all my departments. I am also responsible for the Health & Safety, Fire Prevention and Infection Prevention & Control in compliance with HIQA regulation and policy while monitoring performance and standards, developing policies and procedures, and delivering training. I liaise closely with the Finance team, in delivering on budgetary requirements of the home.Over a fourteen month period between 2021/2022 I liaised with and coordinated third party contractors to facilitate the construction of a sixty four bedroom extension to include upgrading and redevelopment of the existing one hundred and twenty four bedroom building.Prior to joining Carechoice Ireland, I spent 17 years as a Senior Business Development Manager for Unilever Ireland. My experience covered retail sales in all the major supermarkets and foodservice in restaurants, hotels, pubs, schools and healthcare, and various cash & carries. I managed 300+ accounts with a product portfolio of 200+ ambient and chilled products. In addition to my sales role, I was Sales Coach to all new recruits for induction to the business & mentor to existing Sales Force. Additionally I was ambassador for Corporate Social Responsibility to the island of Ireland promoting policies in relation to Environmental issues and Waste Management.
