• Presently, Senior Superintendent, Process Modeling, Engineering and Technical Department• SysCAD process modeling, energy and material balances. Did all process models for 1.95M tpy plant expansion project, worth in the order of US$200million.Projects included adding seed filtration, primary thickener cyclones in the White area; indirect bauxite slurry heating, clarification upgrade in the Red area and Powerhouse generator upgrade.• Startup manager for new 1500HP Ball, which was commissioned successfully. Used Microsoft Projects. Project valued US$10million+.• SysCAD process models for secondary thickener seed cyclones in the White area for increased alumina yield.• Project design and installation of scale inhibitor system in the clarification area. Potential US$1million/ yr cost reduction.• Team leader Investigation of major process incidents (production loss, safety, health and environment) report submitted to management with findings and recommendations.• Project testing viscosity modifier on the bauxite grinding mill.• Troubleshoot process control problems in the Red Area.• Provided recommendation on Red Mud Clarification process issues to other alumina plants by visiting: Windalco Alumina, Jamaica; Aughinish Alumina, Ireland & Sherwin, US.• Benchmarking for Alpart plant expansion by visiting: Windalco, Jamaica; Jamalco, Jamaica; Aughinish, Ireland; Sherwin, US.• Facilitate HAZOP sessions in all areas at Alpart.• SysCAD process modeled options for reducing waste and energy usage. Waste reduction project was valued at US$50 million and Energy reduction was valued in the region of US$100 to 200 million. • Training in: groundwater modeling, AiCHE Certified HAZOP facilitator, SysCAD process modeling, safety, health, and environment, networking, etc.

1997 to 2003• Senior Supt. for technical process control engineers all areas.• Team leader for the Raw Materials Reduction Team which contributed to controllable soda loss reduction in excess of 30% and the lowest losses in the history of Alpart. Cost benefit valued in excess of US$1million/yr.• Presented TMS paper on Red Mud Flocculation using higher concentration dilute flocculant. • Successfully replaced the use of starch on the decanters with Cytec Flocculant.• Almost eliminated alumina production losses (in excess of 20,000 tpy) due to decanter mud level upsets by implementing the use of higher concentration Nalco flocculant in 1999. Cost benefit valued in excess of US$4 million/yr.• Successfully implemented high concentration flocculant on all washers. Cost savings in excess of US$1 million/yr.• Provided recommendation on Red Mud flocculation to the Gramercy, US plant.• Alpart achieved ISO Certification on the process. Area Process Engineers developed Standard Procedures for Process Control.• Training in: management, safety, health, environment, Root Cause Analysis, projects, Certified ABB DCS programmer, etc.

• Red Area Senior Engineer. Contributed to the de-bottlenecking of the Clarification area by:1) Modified control strategy; 2) Installed additional instrumentation; 3) Implemented Standard Operating Procedures; 4) Upgraded flocculant system; 5) Modified equipment design;6) Developed new process control strategies; 7) Contributed to the development of thick red mud disposal stacking.• Project design and implementation of tertiary thickeners flocculant system in the white area.• Training in: safety, health and environment, management, project, etc.

• 1976 to 1989 worked various technical process engineering capacities, eventually attaining the project superintendent level. Worked on projects in the White and Red areas. Successfully:1)Tested red mud flocculants, designed the new flocculant system and replaced starch on all washers; 2) Modified the Outside Causticizer system in order to improve effectiveness; 3) Modified Bauxite slurry barometric heaters, 4) Tested, Designed and Implemented Zinc seeding, etc..o Training in: safety, health and environment, Evaporation Design, Graphical Energy balance, Management Certificates for course from University of Western Carolina (Organizational behavior, Business writing, Management models, etc). • BS Chemical Engineer 1972 – 1976, University of Missouri, US. Was on a scholarship from Alpart. Attained registered EIT status in Missouri, US, by successfully completing the State Board Exam.o Worked 1st summer job in Alpart precipitation area, worked 2nd & 3rd summer jobs in the US,in ammonia, urea, sulfuric acid and phosphoric acid plants.• 1969 to 1972: laboratory technician then production supervisor.
