Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Communications, I am responsible for overseeing the Issues Management and Crisis Communications programs, reputational risk identification and assessment, development of communication response plans, internal communications and emergency planning. Also responsible for liaising with several other departments, including Legal, the FOIP Office and Human Resources on reputational threats.

Responsible for writing, editing and approving all official internal and external communications including letters, media releases, speeches and web-based communication. Also responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive external media and crisis communications plans for the university.

Responsible for a staff of 32 writers, producers, reporters and technicians. Responsible for the journalistic and administrative oversight of all CBC Newsworld network programming originating from Calgary. Managed a budget of $3.5 million/annum.
