John had the responsibility for technical management and technical planning to facilitate the upgrade preparations and maintenance of the existing legacy telecommunications systems, to a new CWDM IP optical layered network with resilient and diverse paths. John's team responsibility included the delivery of nationwide site inspections, analysis and repair to the existing network, creation of an asset inventory and fault management system and the set up a fully staffed 24/7 network operations centre (NOC). The technical team were also responsible for 3rd line support to the field engineers.The project successfully provided a secure, reliable resilient transmission infrastructure platform for the delivery of the Highways Agency's business requirements for ITS devices, National and Regional Operations Centres and Managed Motorways roll out. -
