In my role as one of two supervisors in a large team environment I directly supervised a group of 4 data analysts. I worked actively to help analysts develop their core technical abilities and ensure that their development goals aligned with their responsibilities. I managed all routine and ad hoc reporting for our Large Group accounts. I also served as the primary point of contact for marketing representatives and client vendors for data feeds, where I was in charge of securing NDAs and verifying HIPPA compliance from RFP through implementation.I was responsible for researching complex technical questions from every data source we utilized: Membership, Claims, Actuarial, Billing, etc. Data was distributed across DB2 tables and mainframe flat files and also fed our client facing reporting tool. I was also the plan’s subject matter expert for a new analytical platform that was a core element of our updated marketing strategy.While in this role I overhauled the internal work tracking system which recorded almost 50% more detail and took significantly less time to maintain. I also developed and presented to senior management a proposal to dramatically reduce the time spent on data reporting by realigning data flows from a central data warehouse.

For 3 years (co-incident with my prior role) I led analytical development of our internally created dashboard reporting technology. I developed new measures, dimensions and KPIs; wrote business requirements and assigned and reviewed coding work to off-site staff. I also presented new Business Intelligence tools at our user conference and partnered with management from many of our customers on special projects and development efforts.I led a team that partnered with senior management and actuarial staff at one the nation’s largest commercial carriers to partition their business into geographic modeling groups with comparable settlement trends. The project created a novel cluster analysis approach that resulted in a rollout to the client’s national team at less than 40% of prior cost estimates. I was responsible for all technical aspects of the resulting production rollout for the statistical models and coordinated all data entry and quality control with our internal adjuster staff. The techniques and process became a new service successfully sold to other customers.

I produced independent statistical analysis and was responsible for all documentation and presentation to our clients, who consisted of many of the nation's largest P&C insurance carriers. I regularly oversaw daily work of the team's junior analysts for large customer projects and also led the majority of the department’s hiring efforts.I was responsible for all modeling, analysis and much of the technical customer engagement for our UK office during this time. I worked with a third party actuary contracted by a European Government body to evaluate claim payment trends relative to our injury severity index. I also conducted all statistical modeling that was behind the the industry's first solution to entirely digitize the settlement of personal injury claims.
