I'm a technical project manager, with engineering background. I have software engineering experience in multiple industries (including device control); and project management experience in software and hardware projects (most recently a supercomputing cluster team) including product regulatory EMC, Safety, Environmental, and Import/Export compliance. I have extensive experience collaborating with external suppliers, having built and protected solid and productive working relationships.Other key activities: assisting / backing-up peer Project Managers; coordinating tactical/corrective action responses; strategic planning input to Offering Managers; supporting Services and field sales' bids. During 2007-2008, I coordinated the crit-sit response at a $10M cluster installation. During 2010-2017, I enabled more than $8M sales involving special-order 3rd-party products.Understanding the subject matter helps me assist when problems arise. I enjoy learning, researching what I don't understand, and I'll get my hands dirty to help the team. I've become a "go-to" guy for regulatory affairs questions: advising management of conflicts and issues; explaining likely problems to marketing and development; helping logistics resolve import delays; develop tooling requirements for compliance analysis; and provide interpretations for other subject matter experts.Core Competencies: Project Management, Product Security (PSIRT), Regulatory Affairs (Product Safety/EMC, Import/Export, Environmental Compliance), Hardware Integration Projects, Infrastructure, Software Development Projects, Attention to Detail, Supplier Focal Point, Supplier Negotiations, Audit Readiness, Coordination, Budget Preparation and Management, Test Hardware, Inventory Management, Documentation, Document Management, Time Management, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel Spreadsheets, PowerPoint Presentations, Project), Risk Assessment, Risk Mitigation, Status Tracking, Status Reporting,

Technical Project Manager - Lenovo Scalable InfrastructureLenovo Oct 2014 - Oct 2017Morrisville, NcI enabled name-brand networking and storage hardware for building complex clustered solutions (Lenovo Scalable Infrastructure). Key responsibilities include establishing and ensuring continued regulatory and environmental compliance for all third party hardware; and collaborating with suppliers to demonstrate compliance through extensive due diligence data collection and analysis. I advise management of potential compliance issues; distribution concerns; compliance audit readiness; backing-up the lead Program Manager. During 2014-2017, I enabled more than $5M sales revenue involving special-order products.I was responsible for our supercomputing lab's test hardware budget, typically $3.5M/yr. This included preparing estimates for hardware necessary to interoperability and scalability testing (a very wide range of Lenovo and 3rd-party products); coordinate hardware purchase orders and delivery logistics with ongoing simultaneous project schedules; track and report readiness status. When appropriate I advised management of potential ways to conserve funds. I also worked within the Lenovo DCG Information Security Incident Response (PSIRT) process: researching (CVE) vulnerabilities; coordinating responses with 3rd party suppliers; and communicating advisories when appropriate. -
Technical Project Manager, Ibm Intelligent ClusterIbm Aug 2006 - Sep 2014Rtp, NcI enabled name-brand networking and storage hardware for resale by IBM in clustered solution environments. Key responsibilities include ensuring continued regulatory and environmental compliance for all non-IBM-logo hardware; collaborating with suppliers to demonstrate compliance; developing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for accurate status tracking; coordinating tactical corrective action responses; and supporting field sales' special bid projects. I coordinated the tactical response at a high-profile $10M cluster installation during 2007-2008. During 2010-2014, I enabled more than $5M sales revenue involving special-order products. My role and responsibilities moved to Lenovo when IBM divested its x86 product line. During this period, I cultivated strong working relationships with outside suppliers by helping make them, and IBM peers, more productive. Our suppliers claimed that working with IBM was 'draining' because many IBM teams would request the same information and/or documents during a short period. I solved the issue by making myself a focal point: securely archiving supplier data & documents within IBM; and making myself visible to other IBM teams as a more expedient resource. -
