John Patrick retired in April 2010 as a Program Analyst for the Environmental Protection Agency, Office of the Inspector General (OIG) in Washington DC. He served as the National Grants Desk Officer for criminal and administrative violations (was certified as a grant project officer) and as an evaluator of EPA programs. He co-authored the February 2009 report from the OIG on EPA’s mitigation and adaptation efforts to confront climate change and the February 2010 report on the EPA’s implementation of the Toxic Substances Control Act. He was a EPA grant Principal Investigator for the Cumberland River Compact that encourages sustainable farming methods in this watershed. He also has taught a graduate course, Sustainable Food Practices, at Lipscomb University’s Institute of Sustainable Practices. He has spoken to state groups, national conferences, universities, and federal workshops concerning climate change and its subsequent policy questions. John has completed his course work in the doctoral program in Environmental Science and Policy at George Mason University, focusing on environmental corporate management and sustainable farming methods. He has also received a Bachelors in Public Administration from the University of Arkansas, Masters in Technology and Human Affairs from Washington University in St. Louis, an Executive Certificate from Georgetown University in Nonprofit Management, and is a Certified Internal Auditor. John is currently a co-owner of Foggy Hollow Farm (a small, organic vegetable, livestock, poultry, and blueberry farm) near Joelton, Tennessee.
