About John Petropoulos

I am Creative Director at HeadStart, Australia's fastest growing toy manufacturer and distributor. I work with a crack team of product designers, graphic designers, illustrators and videographers to develop new toys. My focus is on developing the brand as a whole, and to create products which the consumer truly wants.I have been the driving force behind the Best Furry Friends range of girls’ collectibles - winner of the 2018 Australian Toy Association TOY Development of the Year - both in terms of toy design and packaging, point of sale, TVC and comms and digital marketing assets and strategy. Apart from creating the toys themselves, I have been instrumental in developing brand extensions such as feature plush, dolls, electronic interactive toys and play sets. I have also overseen the development and creation of a pilot episode of a full CGI Best Furry Friends which has helped to grow the brand internationally.I am currently continuing to oversee the BFF brand as it moves into series 2, whilst developing two exciting new brands.Formerly Marketing Director at Mercury Group of Companies, a Melbourne based software company specialising in HR management software. This role gave me the opportunity to define the voice for an innovative company.
