Director of the largest battle lab in the U.S. Army, providing daily management and oversight of multi-domain experimentation in live, virtual and constructive environments to test functional concepts and formation capabilities and to support and inform current and future force development. Provided insights and recommended changes to future concepts for brigade combat teams and below to the soldier level. Employed networking to collaborate with other battle labs and the joint community to ensure holistic problem solving and analysis. Ensured experiments were accurately replicated expected U.S. military and threat force capabilities across the land, air, maritime, cyber and space domains. Routinely engaged subject matter experts to integrate and leverage joint, inter-agency, multinational, academic, and defense industry initiatives and capabilities. Managed a government and contracted workforce of over 150 personnel with an annual budget $9 million.

Mazār-E Sharīf, Afghanistan

Deputy commander for a 20 nation, German led advisor and security force comprised of over 1700 soldiers, civilians and contractors responsible for implementing the NATO and U.S. counter-insurgency strategy in accordance with Headquarters, Resolute Support directives and German national policy. Provided daily guidance and management to all members of the command to ensure operations were successful and fully supported the Afghan Sustainable Security Strategy. Responsible for all lethal targeting activities within TAAC-N. Served as the Resolute Support lead for emergency response in the critical Kunduz Province. Supervised the Lift and Sustain Program which provided equipment and logistics support to numerous allied and partner nations supporting Operation Resolute Support.

Hohenfels, Bavaria, Germany

Deputy commander for United States Army Europe’s combat training center comprised of 4000 soldiers, civilians, and family members. Provided daily guidance and management to the headquarters and 9 observer/coach-trainer teams in support of Department of the Army directed training exercises preparing units for wartime and contingency operations. Directly supervised and led the staff in planning, programming, and execution of an 81 million dollar operational budget to support the conduct of live, virtual, and constructive training exercises. Responsible for coordinating activities and programs with external agencies up to the Department of the Army level. Synchronized all activities related to budget, logistics, construction, master planning, training area development, human resources, and long range planning.

Led the 60-person brigade combat team observer/coach-trainer team responsible for providing realistic, force-on-force training exercises for U.S. Army and multinational brigade combat teams. Created and synchronized training scenarios throughout the spectrum of conflict and included joint, inter-agency and multinational aspects and role players. Coached and mentored senior brigade leaders using the after-action review process and informal feedback. Led the JMRC Joint Combined Academic Program designed to teach and mentor unit leaders from U.S. Army, NATO allied and partner units about current inter-operability and unified land operations issues in preparation for their training rotation and follow on deployments.

Led a 45-person battalion task force level observer/coach-trainer team responsible for providing realistic, force-on-force training exercises for U.S. Army and multinational infantry, Stryker, and combined arms battalions. Assisted and provided guidance to the JRMC exercise planning team and scenario developers to create, synchronize and resource realistic and intense training scenarios throughout the spectrum of conflict. Coached and mentored senior battalion leaders using the after-action review process and informal feedback. Commander of a 950-person combined arms battalion with a world-wide rapid deployment mission to support Global Response Force operations and other contingency missions. Responsible for the health, welfare, fitness, training, and tactical employment of the battalion. Responsible for the professional development and readiness of 6 companies of personal performing all aspects of the warfighting functions to include human resources management. Ensured the maintenance and 115 combat vehicles and 385 other wheeled and tracked assets valued at over a $366 million. Required to develop and implement a rigorous training strategy that resulted in a combat ready battalion, fully capable of conducting combined arms maneuver and associated sustainment operations in support of joint operations under all conditions.
