I held multiple position in this time. The first year I worked on a team designing and fabricating microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) mirrors, which resulted in 4 patent awards. The two following years I was assigned as the Deputy Division Chief. I was responsible for day-to-day and annual actions for the five Branches, which handled HR, Security, IT, Facilities, and Training for the entire Directorate. Also during this time I lead 2 AFRL Commander's Challenges which takes teams of early career government civilians and military, engineer and non-engineer, from accross the AF, gives the a real world problem, a small budget, and 6 months to demo a solution.The last 6-9 months I stepped in as the PM on a Large R&D IDIQ contract.

During this time I held multiple positions. For most of the first two years I was the Deputy Flight Commander and analysist. During this time I analyzed data and assisted in the management of ~20 flight personel and activities. Them I was asked to stand up a new flight and mission. In the following year, as the Flight Commander, I hired 14 new civilian analysts, stood up a new lab and analysis capabily, and was the direct supervisor for 26 civilian and military personnel. Then I served as one of five duty officer in the NASIC Control Center, responsible for 24/7/365 coverage of real world operations. From there I deployed to Afghanistan for 6 months as a Civil Engineer (CE) Liason Officer. Attached to an Army Forword Operating Base (FOB), I supervived 5 civilian construction inspection contractors and 2 military, responsible for qualifying new construction. I work directly with the Brigade Corp of Engineers lead to organize and execute AF CE support to Army operations.

Attended Air Force Officer Training School

During this time I was an A-10 weapon system specialist. I spent the first 2 years as a weapons loader, deploying overseas twice. Then about a year as a Lead Crew Member, responsible for inital training and qualification of all weapons loaders on the base. Then, 2001-2002 while in Koera, I was assigned as a Maintenance Crew Chief and the direct supervisor of 2 crew members. When I returned from Korea I was assigned to the maintenance back shop. For the next ~3 years I supervised about 30 airman, ave of 6-8 direct reports at a time, in the performance of off aircraft maintenance for the A-10 weapon system.
