Capitol Outdoor co-owner, CFO and Operations head John Polis owns and operates signs in New York City, San Francisco and Baltimore. Currently manages assets in Washington DC, Baltimore, Detroit, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Hoboken, West Palm Beach, New Haven, Newark, and Cleveland.Polis is also a co-founder of Prytany, the first social media network for politics that allows candidates and constituents alike to crowdsource for federal elections. Prytany is fast and easy to use, secure, non-partisan and has the lowest fees in politics. Polis graduated Cum Laude from James Madison University in 1989, where he majored in Finance and minored in Economics. Polis graduated from George Washington University with a Masters in Business Administration in 1990 with concentration in International Business.In 1990 he started Interior Displays Inc. and ran profitably for 15 years, which specialized in restaurant and bar advertising. In 1996 he started Sales Displays, still operating, that operates 8-sheet advertising displays in the inner city of Washington DC.Polis owned and operated Capitol Outdoor LLC, which divested a majority of its assets to New Century Holdings LLC in 2006. This entity was sold for $20 plus million to high worth investor, Leonard Tow. The original investment was $50,000.Currently, Polis owns and operates Capitol Outdoor Marketing LLC, which divested assets to Fuel Outdoor, an Ochs Ziff Portfolio Company in 2007 for $7.5 million. This entity still exists.Polis is currently an investor in Snagfilms and Indiewire, Bank of Georgetown, Micobionetics, Venga mobile application, and Geospatial Holdings.Polis is former President of Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral 2010 – 2012 and Board Member from 1998 – 2012. Polis was also a former youth director of Saint Sophia Cathedral and basketball coach for 20 years.
