Nathean is an Irish SME with over two decades of experience in developing advanced analytics and reporting solutions for the healthcare, life sciences and other industries including public sector bodies. Our focus is on providing cloud-based analytics platforms that not only deliver innovative functionalities but also prioritise robust data governance and ethical AI practices. For example, in the US, our software is utilised within optical retail clinics in hospitals to provide analytical services, necessitating stringent adherence to regulatory standards and auditing to protect patient information. Similarly, our technology supports ophthalmology clinics, where safeguarding patient data is of paramount importance.We understand the critical importance of data governance and privacy. That's why we are investing in Privacy Enhancing Technologies and adhere to strict data protection regulations like the GDPR and the EU AI Act. Our solutions are designed to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive patient data while enabling valuable insights and analysis.Nathean is a founding industry member of CeADAR in Ireland and served on its steering board for 5 years. Through our association with CeADAR and academia we have collaborated on a number of funded AI related projects and have also contributed to several published papers and articles on ethical AI.Our role in the HCAIM (Human Centred AI Masters) project as an SME consortium member exemplifies our commitment to leveraging AI for societal benefit. This project, funded by the EU, aimed at creating AI solutions that are ethically grounded and centred around human needs, with wide applications. Our contributions to this project, both in terms of technical innovation and ethical considerations, highlight our deep engagement with the principles of human-centred AI focusing on educating them about both its potential benefits and the ethical considerations involved.
