SkipperSailing Sabbatical Oct 2016 - Jan 2021My wife and I bought a catamaran in Cape Town and began our nautical adventure. We visited the Caribbean before crossing to the Mediterranean, back to the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal and across the Pacific to Queensland. We thoroughly enjoyed our time afloat, taking full responsibility for the safety of ourselves and the proper functioning of our boat and being rewarded with a host of new experiences along the way. With Covid 19 closing international borders, we have moved to Melbourne, to begin a new chapter in our lives.

Lead Business AnalystCathay Pacific Airways Mar 2014 - Oct 2016Hong Kong SarWorked as lead BA on a Travel Retail Platform implementation that developed and delivered the capacity for customers to simultaneously book flights and accommodation online and through the call centre. During development I helped facilitate workshops to gather business requirements and document these. I worked with key stakeholders to ensure that new processes were developed, communicated and training provided to impacted teams in Hong Kong and offshore. After the initial implementation I worked closely with the call centres to ensure relevant customer issues were identified and prioritised for remedial action. Following go-live our Hong Kong based team and the off-shore developers in Ireland received training in the Agile methodology. Our outstanding requirements were formed into our backlog and then transformed into epics and stories for prioritisation into future sprints. We had daily local scrum stand-ups and weekly joint sessions with the offshore developers in Ireland using MS Teams to groom the backlog.I was then the BA on a project that removed low-benefit features from the Amadeus, Departure Control System. In this role I was primarily responsible for working closely with business stakeholders to establish the impact on the business and customers of removing several bespoke processes. I was able to identify alternative business processes and negotiate acceptance so that the low benefit features could be removed. -
Business AnalystDhanush Infotech (Aust) Pty Ltd Sep 2013 - Feb 2014Jj Richards And SonsAS the project BA, I delivered process analysis and prepared documentation to support a business transition from paper-based to electronic data entry for our client JJ Richards. JJ Richards provides liquid waste removal for gas drilling activities in central Queensland and needs to maintain appropriate records for invoicing and regulatory requirements. In this project I worked closely with the customer to understand current state processes and develop appropriate changes to ensure that a transition to a tablet-based system would provide real business benefits. This involved working closely with business stakeholders to understand, define and document future state processes and prepared a project plan. I then created wireframes using MS Visio to map out the user experience (JJ Richards staff) and customer experience (customer’s sign off for task completion) to get agreement that we were on track. I also wrote Agile-based user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team to follow. -
