As Operations Officer, was responsible for the safe and effective navigation and operations of all submarines assigned to organization (CTF 69). Supervised 13-18 officers and 23-25 enlisted personnel conducting scheduling, exercises, watch floor operations, special operations, and intelligence support.

Assisted Director with the planning, developing, and establishing policies and objectives of the organization in accordance with higher directives and guidance.Personnel Officer - Planned and carried out policies relating to organization’s human resource management and personnel administrative activities. Administered the organization, performance of duty, and good order and discipline of a 165-174-crew member nuclear powered, guided missile submarine.Training Officer - Planned, coordinated, and directed personnel training and staff development programs for organization. Coordinated with department heads for command administration, schedules and inspections, and personnel performance, training, welfare, and morale.

Administered program designed to maintain and improve combat readiness of ships assigned to organization (Squadron). Organization (Squadron) had oversight of two SSGNs and one SSBN and their 5-6 crews. Program consisted of planning, organizing, and directing for group work of the Squadron Weapons department consisting of one Chief Warrant Officer and seven senior enlisted personnel in all aspects of SSGN crew training and certification for CSS 16 and all aspects of TLAM missile strike certifications for the Atlantic SSGN program.Advised and assisted commander in employment of weapons and in supply, maintenance and repair of ordnance equipment. Department activities included operations, handling, stowage, and maintenance of weapons (missiles, torpedoes, and other arms and explosives), sensing and tracking systems (SONAR and fire control), and launching systems onboard the ship (SSGN - nuclear powered, guided missile submarine).Advised director (commanding officer) on naval special warfare and weapons employment, capabilities, and problems. Department consisted of around 50 sailors in five divisions responsible for the operation and maintenance of all DDS/lock-out chamber, SONAR, fire control, and launcher systems (missile and torpedo).
