John earned a Bachelors of Arts in Education at the University of Arizona with a minor in History in 1999 and his first Master of Arts from Northern Arizona University in 2002 with emphasis at the Elementary level. He graduated from Norwich University with a second Master of Arts in Military History in June 2014.While completing his undergraduate degree John served as an athletic director and coached basketball, hockey, and cross country teams at the middle school level while assisting in the day-to-day operations and athletic budget for a combined 12 sports teams. Throughout the past 24 years John has worked at every educational level from Elementary through College. In addition, John has served in the United States Army since 1991, both on active duty (1991-96), and Reserve status (2000-2016) deploying to Sardinia, Croatia, and Iraq/Kuwait. John has been stationed overseas as a Medical Supply Specialist, and is currently retired as a Medical Service Officer. John has been active as both a High School and Division II & III College Basketball Official in Arizona, California, and North Carolina. He has worked three Arizona State Championship games, and 2 State Championship games in North Carolina along with several Semi-Final and Quarter-Final contests as well.Hobbies include weightlifting, sports officiating, recreational traveling, and playing golf. Originally from Michigan, future goals include serving in the capacity as a full-time Adjunct Faculty member, Liaison of Military Educational Services, or securing a government position in a training environment. Specialties: Curriculum and implementation of core knowledge and daily lesson planning. Developed, distributed, and reviewed the course syllabus to ensure department and institution standards. Utilized a variety of online instructional strategies in order to engage students, including cooperative and experiential learning. Coordinated with the college or university bookstore in order to ensure class material availability. Evaluated student performance promptly and accurately based on departmental rubrics.
