I am a graduate from Columbia University with a BA in Environmental Science with a special concentration in Sustainable Development. My experience with summarizing scientific literature along with my work experience in a team environment provides me the qualifications to excel in this field. Through my classes, I have developed strong research, writing, and communication skills. My classes in the Environmental Science department have all incorporated assignments where I needed to break down complex scientific concepts (like climate change) into a simple, compacted format for papers and presentations. While my major has provided me with a great amount of depth in environmental issues, my special concentration in Sustainable Development through the Earth Institute at Columbia University has given me insight into a breadth of topics, including but not limited to: U.S. environmental law, international climate change policy, food systems and food sustainability, and economic theory. The cumulative senior project for my special concentration has been a practical workshop, where a small team of students have worked to inform and advise the Westchester County Climate Crisis Task Force on best strategies for building community resilience in the wake of climate change. My passion for environmentalism and sustainability has allowed me to succeed at Columbia and has driven me to seek to improve the lives of others.
