John J. Ring became the Executive Director of the Olympic Club Foundation after working at Archbishop Riordan High School and St. Ignatius College Preparatory and practicing as a trial attorney at the firm of Lynch, Gilardi and Grummer for 16 years. While at Riordan High School, John and his Development Team more than doubled the fundraising revenue while building a Makerspace for the new Engineering Program, renovating the gym in honor of Kevin Restani, painting the school, improving the RSP Wing and numerous classrooms, and building Mayer Family Field at the Carl Gellert and Celia Berta Gellert Athletic Complex. At St. Ignatius, John helped raise more than $60 million dollars for the school, more than doubling the Annual Fund and Scholarship programs and running 325 events. Some of his featured speakers during this time included Tim Russert, Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, State Historian Kevin Starr, Regis Philbin, Paul Otellini, Rear Admiral James Shannon, Chris Matthews and Tom Brokaw. John helped create the Admiral Daniel J. Callaghan Society, SI Law Society, SI Wine event, the Tour Di Sant'​ Ignazio, the Callaghan/Linehan Alumni of the Year Award, the SI Spring Training trip, and alumni chapters in New York, Boston, Seattle, and Washington D.C. While at Lynch, Gilardi, John's practice was primarily devoted to Labor & Employment law, Intellectual Property, and General Business Litigation. He has extensive experience in trial practice and litigation management and helped defend clients in numerous trials with founding partner Robert T. Lynch, all resulting in successful defense verdicts. John is a member of the St. Thomas More Society, is the Past President of the Board of Directors of the Hibernian-Newman Club of San Francisco, and also serves on the Board of Directors of Holy Family Day Home, Archbishop Riordan High School, and the Irish Immigration Pastoral Center. He was also a member on the “Warriors on the Waterfront” committee that helped to bring NBA basketball back to San Francisco.John has been a member in good standing of the State Bar of California since 1998.
