Committed to continuing growth and learning while working in various industries. Began in Satellite Communications in the United States Army (5 years). This job included everything from setting up our transportable Satellite Communications terminal in the field then tearing it down and setting it up in another location. This was often done in the middle of the night and during bad weather. The other end of this spectrum was operating (24 x 7 x 365) Fixed Station terminals in southern and central Italy.Worked on Satellite Antennas for Maritime vessels such as cruise ships, aircraft carriers, and yachts >140’ (5 years). This job involved a lot of travel and technical prowess. Each terminal was gyroscopically stabilized along 5 axes (Azimuth/Elevation/Roll/Pitch/Yaw). I never knew which island or exotic port of call I would be working in next.Managed a Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) installation team (2 years). This job was very heavy in terms of logistics. Everything was involved from material management to scheduling teams for installations and service calls.Managed client accounts for sales organizations (7 years). While this was a departure from the Satellite Communications industry, it was very challenging because you had to be successful day after day or you would fall behind. The most challenging job I have ever had was sales-related. Vacations, weekends, and time outside of work were very limited.Journeyman electrician in the new construction industry (7 years). After working in sales, I decided to work with my hands, so I became an electrician. This job was interesting in that it required brains and brawn in equal measure. Excellent skills in math, communications, and attention to detail were all required.My current position is subject matter expert (SME) - electrical.
