He provides regulatory and accounting updates on current developments impacting investment companies and investment advisers, including fair value processes and procedures, and regulatory compliance matters. John serves as an SEC reviewing partner (second review partner for audits of SEC registrants) for the public sector of KPMG’s funds practice.From 2012 through 2014, John was a partner in KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice (national technical group) focusing on the Asset Management industry. In his role, John worked with engagement teams to solve complex accounting and auditing matters involving business development companies, registered and non-registered investment companies and investment advisers. John closely monitored the activities of the SEC, FASB, and PCAOB and provided regular updates and insights into current developments and implications to engagement teams serving investments companies and investment advisers.
