Successfully managed team of contractors responsible for installing $22 MM remote meter-reading system for Virginia Power. Final retrofit installation: 450,000 meters.

Hired staff to build 65M SF high-technology building. Wrote grant and negotiated $15 M contract with Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. Formed Operating Committees with leaders from 6 university partners, industry executives, federal laboratories and the business community. After receiving a $1MM WSDOT award, led team which designed and presented the pubic 3 new freeway route alternatives for proposed $2 B freeway. Team completed 29 National Environmental Impact Studies.

Initiated, negotiated and closed 24 industrial property sales and net lease transactions valued at $70 MM, including 8 corrugated container plants in 6 states for Southwest Forest Industries. Named Top Industrial Property marketer.

Houston, Texas Area

Helped build company from 15 to over 100 employees with offices in Houston, NY, Paris and London. New company generated over $1 B in revenues with unique fuel oil, gasoline, naphtha trades and hedge transactions.Traded foreign crudes for various domestic crudes with Majors and smaller refining companies, including pipeline exchanges.

Wichita, Kansas Area

Negotiated 465,000 ton tanker transaction, the largest oil transaction in company’s history. Iran revolution took place. Traveled to Iran at substantial personal risk. Negotiated $70 MM Iranian crude oil deal, transshipped through Bonaire tankage and shipped through Texoma Pipeline to Oklahoma refinery.

Managed diverse issues in California. Arranged and attended meeting with Paul Sticht (CEO) and Governor Brown. Selected as Energy Policy Director for 500 member California Independent Producers Association. USDOE testimony lowered California heavy, high sulfur prices.
