After college, worked in a building materials store doing customer service for 3 years. Began working for the family painting and log home restoration business for about a year until getting married and deciding that I needed to be home more often. Began work at IFG in 2007 starting on cleanup. In less than 3 years of working different production and supervisory jobs I was noticed for my technical skills and promoted to a new job in the facility called QC Tech. This job morphed into many different things from log quality, lumber quality, machine performance, machine alignment, optimization, machine reliability, ROI analysis, root cause analysis, communications, process control, leadership roles on several levels, profit and loss analysis, production planning, product setups, project management, quality management systems, business analytics design and more. I've attended several workshops at Oregon State University that relate to lumber quality and kiln drying. Have gained advanced skills with Microsoft Office. Have been trained in SQL, PowerBI, Lean Sigma Manufacturing and have applied those applications across the plant. Was a pivotal part of taking a quality program to new heights that put the tools in the hands of the rest of the teams at the plant site. Then moved to a more focused role as Optimization Specialist to dive deeper into optimizing our company’s processes to the highest level.
