I am a unique international emergency response specialist who is well recognised expert in the field of emergency response particularly in the field of offshore oil exploration and production. I have 35 plus years experience in the field covering a very wide array of emergency response activities and training both onshore and offshore. I have a specialist talent for incorporating the site specific major hazards into the emergency response training and exercises so lessons learnt from past incidents and those predicted by safety case studies are learnt through 'living the scenario' in training. I avoid the 'tick box' and repetitive cookbook style of routine style of emergency response training which breeds complacency - every session every year must move the individuals and the organisation further forward - not just attempt to maintain the status quo or less - I recommend not more emergency response training but more effective emergency response training for less time and less money especially in the current times.
