I work in Stinson LLP's Private Business Practice Group assisting privately-held and family businesses with challenges ranging from start-up to succession planning. I grew up in an atmosphere centered on our family's network of automotive dealerships which meant I was exposed to the many challenges that a small business owner faces when running a company. After graduating from college and working in several different positions within the company, I learned first-hand the impact each seemingly small business decision could have on the company's long-term viability and the success and happiness of the family which owned it. I bring that family business background to my legal practice for the benefit of my clients. My practice focuses on advising business owners on all aspects of business formation, mergers and acquisitions, day-to-day corporate governance and succession planning. With practical experience in a closely-held company and a businesslike approach, I help resolve the client's immediate legal concern while helping them to effectively and efficiently position themselves to achieve their overarching business objectives. Prior to this, I worked in sales and service in the automotive industry for seven years. As a service manager, I led a production-oriented team of 40+ union members, onboarded new employees and maintained high standards of customer satisfaction. I thoroughly enjoyed interacting with clients, resolving customer issues and finding new collaborative solutions for my teams, and I look forward to bringing these skills to my new profession.
