Senior Supply Chain Manager Responsibilities• Management and Development of Supply Chain Strategies• Delivery of Supply KPI’s Availability, Supplier Inbound, Depot Service Level, Inventory, Customer On-Shelf Availability, Forecasting Accuracy.• Implementing and continually developing the UK S&OP Process• Recruitment, appraisals Training and Team development.• Challenge support and inspire the Supply Chain teams in a series of continuous improvements linking into the businesses overall Lean Manufacturing initiatives• Continuous review and development of the UK Supply Chain processes and procedures interlinking with other functions as required. • Educating the Supply Chain Teams in having a broader understanding of the key Supply Chain measures and how they can make a difference within the businessAchievements:• Successful Negotiation with Suppliers, Distribution and Traders to cancel some existing truck fill contracts, resulting in more predictable demand for Suppliers and significantly reduced Inventory levels in Stores.• Project Managing the Implementation of New Ordering Patterns. These involved related procedural changes to support a cultural change within the business.• Implemented a new ordering algorithm that significantly reduced Store Inventory which generated annual savings of circa £900k in Stockholding and £320k in multiple handling costs.• Detailed study and proposals submitted to halve the costs of Book recycling. Implemented the changes at no extra costs incurred but with savings to two cost centres. Saving on DC costs circa £38k and saving of circa £1.17m in Inventory.• Successfully developed a suite of Leadership training modules enabling the Supply teams to understand the Situational Leadership model and how to flex their natural style to get the best out of people. Successfully signed off 143 colleagues within a six year period.• Successfully mentored 6 people utilising an L & D approach to promotion to managerial level. .
