Primary Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) Manager: Directly responsible to the Commanding Officer for the proper administration EKMS account. Ensure policies and procedures are followed in accordance with EKMS-1B, EKMS-3B and EKMS-5A for all Communication Security (COMSEC) material holdings and handled, accounted for, and administered properly. Conduct assist visits, periodic inspections and spot checks on all EKMS Local Elements (LEs) and account vault; and Prepare inspection reports, provide after action requirements. Supervise military personnel as alternate managers. Conduct required CMS inventories of COMSEC material. Ensure proper inventories of COMSEC keying material are conducted Provide written guidance to personnel who have local holdings issued. Key advisor and CMS authoritative source to staff officials on policy and procedures for Navy EKMS Tiers 2 and 3 (EKMS 1[Phase 5] Series). Has the ability to successfully protect classified information and continued security clearance eligibility with each subordinate who has access to classified information.
