About John St. Clair
I have worked on Windows Desktops and Laptops throughout my career in management. I know how to troubleshoot minor issues such as: network connectivity at the PC, finding printers/scanners on a network and loading onto the PC. I have worked with inventory management software on a hand scanner. I have also helped others set-up docking stations for their laptops. I am able to follow wiring diagrams, whether for electrical or networking cables, to successfully run power or data through an area. I have also worked with Cisco Packet Tracing and have obtained basic coding skills in Java that have been used for various projects and assignments for my Master’s degree. I recently completed a Network Security course that focused on building Firewall parameters, and using Wireshark, on Windows and Linux, and Netwitness to look for security threats on enterprise networks. I also worked on securing VPN tunnels within the labs we were assigned in the course. I was involved in a project to switch from a paper ticketing system to an electronic system on an Android tablet. I was able to speak to the technology and trained people who were in their early 20’s - mid-60’s on how to proper use the system. I was also capable of troubleshooting issues with the ticketing program, using the SOP given from IT, whether in-person or remotely by walking the technician through the proper steps to resolve their issue. I know how to use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio (for creating Network layouts), Outlook, and Excel (Intermediate to advance knowledge creating spreadsheets, using formulas, and pulling data from one tab to another). I can learn tasks and procedures quickly to complete training. I am also able to take on multiple tasks and prioritize in order to meet customer needs. I also enjoy teaching people tasks; training is a passion of mine. I keep an open mind so I can hear all opinions before I make an appropriate decision. I work very well in stressful situations and believe that my best work comes out of those situations. During these situations, I am able to keep a level head and calm demeanor so people around me do not get stressed as well. I am a people person. I can work very well with others and I work very well alone with minimal to no supervision to complete tasks. I am very goal-minded and can do anything I set my mind to. I am very detailed oriented. I like to create fun environments, while being able to accomplish any tasks. I have excellent written and verbal communication skills and am able to explain complex to people across business lines.
