Leader in the field of immuno-oncology, Dr Stagg made seminal discoveries such as the identification of adenosine-producing CD73 as a cancer target. His work sparked the development of therapeutics agents targeting the adenosine axis now in clinical trials. Dr Stagg was involved in the development of AstraZeneca’s oleclumab (anti-CD73 mAb), and as co-founder and SAB member of Surface Oncology, participated in the development of 6 additional INDs. Dr Stagg was a driving force in the creation of the Marathon of Hope (MOH) Cancer Centres Network, a unique collaborative platform to improve cancer precision medicine. Together with Dr Ian Watson (McGill), Dr Stagg was co-Director of the Montreal Cancer Consortium, the precursor of MOH-Quebec.Dr Stagg is currently director of the Purinergic Lab at CHUM Hospital Research Centre, board director at BioCanRx, Translational Advisory Committee member of international clinical trials, scientific advisor for the Cancer Research Institute, and SAB member for several Biotechs and Venture Capital funds.
