Developed network processor firmware and software for Internet security appliances, including the following products:10 Gigabit Multi-layer Encryptor - Designed the IPSec dataplane optimized for a Netlogic/Broadcom XLP 32-core processor, capable of layer 2/3/4 encryption.CEP10/100/1000 – Designed the IPSec data plane for the Cipheroptics second-generation family of security gatewaysbased on the multi-core, multi-threaded Raza XLR/XLS processor family. Responsible for software architecture, software project management, data plane (RMIOS-based) and control plane (Linux-based) feature development.SG1100 Security Gateway – Developed IPSec data plane for next-generation appliance targeted for the Intel IXP2850 network processor. Code written in structured assembly language and partitioned for multiple IXP2850 microengines operating in a multistage pipeline.SG1002/1000/100 Security Gateway - Developed network processor firmware (RISC-based assembly language) and hostdriver software (C++) for a Gigabit Ethernet Security Gateway. Implemented the data plane for an RFC2401-compliant IPSec protocol packet handling system using a Vitesse IQ2200 network processor, Broadcom 5840/5841 cryptographic coprocessors,and a Netlogic IPCAM-3 network search engine. Developed system control software for a real-time 3-dimensional imaging ultrasound machine (Model V360).Worked on all major functional areas of the user-interface and machine-control (real-time) software as a member of a 7-person development team. Extended existing feature set to include color flow imaging and stress echo modes. Participated in redesign of code architecture to transition user-interface source from C to C++. User-interface code built as a protected-mode DOS application running on an embedded Intel x86 processor. Machine-control (real-time) code developed in x86 assembly language and built as a stand-alone program running on a second embedded x86 processor.

Developed device driver software for ATM network interface cards, including the following:· NDIS 5.0 miniport device driver for Microsoft Windows NT 5.0, supporting OC-3, CAT-3 and CAT-5 PCI ATM network interface cards. Source code written in C.· ATM Forum Compliant LAN Emulation Client device driver for Novell Netware, supporting OC-3, CAT-3 and CAT-5 PCI ATM network interface cards. Source code written in C and x86 assembly language.

Designed electrical circuitry, embedded software and user-interface software for industrial control products, including:· EQ5300 Weld Control – developed Motorola HC16-based control hardware.· Managed team of five design engineers for hardware/software custom upgrade of weld control for General Motors – Truck and Bus division.· Redesigned Saturn Corporation’s custom weld control firmware (written in assembly) to improve environmental noise immunity.· SYMAX family PLC – developed fiber optic input module (Motorola 68HC711-based). Developed novel signaldiscrimination scheme for single fiber systems. Control firmware written in HC-11 assembly language.

Designed hardware and software for industrial control equipment including the following:· Lodtrak IV – motor protection module sold to Saturn Corporation. Designed CPU board (Intel 8051-based) and controlfirmware using an 8051 C cross-compiler and assembler.· 10 Megawatt GTO power conversion system - developed self-test diagnostic firmware using PLM-86 compiler.· Turbine Control System – developed Intel 8051-based hardware and control firmware (assembly).
