About John Stumpf

I am a Mechanical Design Engineer currently pursuing my Master's degree in Engineering Management at the University of Louisville. My academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, which I successfully completed in May 2022 from J.B. Speed School at U of L. Since then, I have been taking a measured approach to my education, focusing on one class at a time to ensure I can fully grasp the concepts and skills while focusing on launching my career. Despite my short tenure at Fortna, I take pride in the skills I acquired and the valuable contributions I made to these projects. Throughout my experiences in both college and the workplace, I've developed strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Now, I am eager to further enhance my technical proficiency and advance my career as a mechanical design engineer. I am now looking to further my technical skills and advance my career as a mechanical design engineer. I am excited about the opportunities ahead and am committed to making meaningful contributions in my field.

Residential Assistant

Louisville, Kentucky, United States

As a Resident Assistant (RA) at the University of Louisville, my role was multifaceted and impactful. I was responsible for planning and executing events, conducting check-ins, and aiding approximately 40 students each semester. Working collaboratively with a team of dedicated RAs, we organized both building-wide and individual events, creating a vibrant and engaging community for our residents. One of the unique aspects of this role was the responsibility of being on call at various times throughout the year. During these periods, RAs remained on-site, ready to address a range of student needs. This included assisting with facilities issues, addressing noise complaints, and providing support to students navigating personal difficulties related to college life. To manage this responsibility effectively, I had to schedule my on-call shifts, ensuring that they didn't interfere with my academic obligations and other responsibilities. Overall, serving as a Resident Assistant was a truly enriching experience. It allowed me to connect with and guide students in their personal and academic journeys, fostering personal growth and exploration of their interests and personalities.
